The elected office for which I am campaigning in 2010 is that of County Clerk and Recorder of Boulder County, Colorado. That position reports directly to you, the Voter, and is responsible for these primary divisions of county government:
1. Motor Vehicle Titles and Tags
2. Recorder of Deeds and Mortgages
3. Chief County Election Official
Secure Elections are the basic foundation of our Republic. Keeping them secure is an awesome responsibility. Currently in Boulder County, even paper ballots are computerized, not counted.
Coffee stains and computers should not vote in our elections
(click here to see what I mean).
I am equally opposed to all threats to fast, free, and fair elections. As your Boulder County Clerk I am committed to:
- Protecting the rights of all legal voters.
- Fighting same-day registration and voting.
- Seeking to prosecute all vote related fraud.
- Opposing mail-in only elections.
- Implementing fast, fair, and accurate ballot counting.
- Restoring truly secret ballots (no serial numbers or barcodes).
ALERT: Since 2004, and again in 2010, every paper ballot in Boulder County will be imprinted with a unique serial number and bar code. These kinds of identifying marks are expressly prohibited by The Colorado Constitution, in Article VII Section 8. Especially if you receive either a mail-in or absentee ballot, or even if you vote at the polls, there is a potential that the way you vote can be tracked. There may be no evidence that such tracking will be done in the 2010 election, but the relevant fact is that it could be – there is great potential for mischief here.
Immediately after being elected I will take steps to verify that Boulder County is equipped with fast and accurate technology before the 2012 Presidential Election to ensure that it is Certified on time. I will make certain that the 2012 election will use truly secret (i.e., Constitutional) ballots. I will stop mail-in-only elections because you deserve the choice to vote at the polls.
Be you Democrat, Republican, or Unaffiliated, I hope you will support my campaign to restore voting integrity and Voter confidence to Boulder County.
